On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, the Dallas Jewish Historical Society will present the 2017 Ann Loeb Sikora Humanitarian Award to Jeff Genecov, Julie Genecov Shrell, and David Genecov at a Cocktail Reception at the Communities Foundation of Texas, from 5:30pm - 8:30pm.
Who was Ann Loeb Sikora?
Ann Loeb Sikora was the first woman to serve as president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas (1982-1983). She was a founding member of the Dallas Jewish Coalition for the Homeless (now Vogel Alcove) and of MAZON, a Jewish Response to Hunger. Dubbed a “professional volunteer,” she received numerous awards for her outstanding community service.
What is the Ann Loeb Sikora Humanitarian Award?
The award, established in memory of Ann Sikora z”l, honors individuals who emulate the humanitarian ideals by which Ann lived her life.

Where does the money go?
All donations from the event support the preservation of written, visual and audible materials that document the history of Jews in Dallas, the ongoing and historical contributions made to the Dallas community, along with programs and exhibits which help present and future generations connect with Jewish Dallas.
